E-Scooters |
||
|
Yesterday an adult male was seen by an officer to be riding an e-scooter at speed along Penzance Promenade. Exiting the Prom he joined the road and sped in front of the marked police car, almost causing a collision. The scooter was subsequently seized under S.165 of the Road Traffic Act as not Insured. Are you thinking of buying an e-scooter as a Christmas Present? Please make sure you know how to use it legally. You can only use one on private land and you must have the permission of the landowner to do so. It is illegal to ride them on the road or in public places, such as parks, pavements and shopping centres. You risk it being seized, receiving a minimum fine of £300 and receiving points on your driving licence.
